This pandeiro is made of plastic and has a diameter of 10 inches. The frame is covered with a synthetic sheet and provided with chrome-plated steel shells. The sheet is tuned by an odd number of turnbuckles. The tuning of this pandeiro is therefore best when you always skip one turnbuckle (1-3-5-7-2-4-6). Meinl delivers this pandeiro including voting key.
Pandeiro
Just like the tambourine, the pandeiro is also a frame drum that is played by hand. The main difference is in the jingles. These have a different bulging and generally sound drier with less sustain. The pandeiro is used in many Brazilian music styles including samba, coco, choro and capoeira. However, the pandeiro originally comes from Spain and Portugal. Here they call this frame drum pandeireta or pandereta. Well-known pandeiro players include Paulinho Da Costa and Cyro Baptista. A lot of technology is involved in playing the pandeiro.
